Wilhelm Meyn (3 June 1923 – 4 May 2002) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant in the Luftwaffe during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. During his career he flew 721 missions and was credited with 26 aerial victories.〔For a list of Luftwaffe ground attack aces see ''List of German World War II Ground Attack aces''〕 Wilhelm Meyn was captured by British troops in May 1945 and was released a few months later.
